What is influencer gifting?
Influencer gifting means sending your products to creators or customers, with no ad buy and no fee, so they try them and talk about them to their audience. It's the most accessible form of influencer marketing. Kayba runs gifting from Shopify: the shipment, the brief, the tracking and the video you get back.
What's the difference between gifting and product seeding?
They're the same practice. Seeding usually implies shipping at a larger scale to surface a few advocates, while gifting can be very targeted. In practice, people use them interchangeably.
How do I do influencer gifting on Shopify?
On Kayba, you pick products from your synced catalog and the recipients, one creator or a group. Kayba creates a $0 order in your store, your usual fulfillment ships it, and tracking flows back into Kayba until delivery.
Does the creator have to post?
The group decides. By default, a video is due 7 days after the package arrives. You can also create a group with no content expected, when the shipment is simply a gift.
Do creators have to disclose gifted products?
Yes. Under the FTC's Endorsement Guides, a free product is a material connection, so the post has to disclose it clearly, for example with #ad. This answer is for information only and isn't legal advice.
How much does an influencer gifting campaign cost?
The direct cost is the product at cost plus shipping. The hidden cost, often bigger, is the time spent picking creators, shipping and following up. On Kayba, gifting comes with Essential at €77/mo billed yearly, up to 200 shipments a month.
Can I limit what creators request?
Yes, group by group. You choose whether creators in a group can request products themselves, and you set a maximum value per request. Requests above the cap are blocked.
Should I gift micro or nano influencers?
For a growing brand, nano (under 10K followers) and micro influencers (10K to 100K) are more open to a product with no fee, and their audiences tend to be more engaged.
Does Kayba work without Shopify?
Not yet. Kayba connects to Shopify stores only. That's what lets it create the shipment as a $0 order and track the package.
