What is a UGC platform?
A UGC platform lets a brand get content filmed by real users of its products, set the terms for how it's used, and publish it on its own channels. Kayba is a UGC platform built for Shopify: videos come from creators who receive your products, and they go live right on your product pages.
How do I choose a UGC platform?
Look at three things: who films the videos (freelancers paid per job, or your own customers), who holds the rights and for which uses, and where the files end up once they're delivered. A platform that stops at the file leaves the last mile to you.
How much does a UGC platform cost?
There are two models. Pay per video, usually $150 to $400 from a newer creator before paid usage rights. Or subscribe, like Kayba: you pay for the platform (Essential is €77/mo billed yearly), and creators are paid in product and commission on the sales they drive.
What is the best UGC platform?
The one that fits the job. For a one-off launch with ad creatives, a per-video marketplace or an agency gets you there faster. For a steady flow of real-customer videos on your product pages, pick a platform where the same creators keep coming back, so you don't pay for casting and briefing every time.
What's the difference between a UGC platform and a UGC agency?
An agency takes your brief and runs casting, filming and revisions for a fee per video. A platform gives you the tool and the community, and you choose the creators and the pace. Kayba is a platform, not an agency.
Can I use UGC in paid ads?
Yes, once the creator has agreed to it. Standard terms cover your website and organic social. Paid ads are a different use of someone's face, so they need a separate consent.
Do the videos show on my Shopify product pages?
Yes. Add the Kayba UGC block to your theme once, then choose from Kayba which videos show on each product page and in what order. The carousel is vertical, and its accent color matches your brand.
Do I have to pay creators?
Not per video. On Kayba, creators get your products and earn a commission on sales from their storefront. Under FTC rules, they still have to disclose the partnership when they post.
Does Kayba work without Shopify?
Not yet. Kayba connects to Shopify stores only. That's what lets it ship products as $0 orders and publish videos to your product pages.
